Electric Church Comes Alive At HOB

The House of Blues Dallas hosted an epic sold out performance of Fitz & The Tantrums last Saturday night while on their Get Right Back Summer Tour. From the very first note of the first song, "Get Right Back" from their new album, everyone was on their feet dancing and signing along during the entire nearly two-hour set. This band from Los Angeles, who describe their sound as "soul-influenced indie pop" attracts an extremely diverse fan base who instantly bonded together while singing along.

Michael Fitzpatrick and Noelle Scaggs have tremendous energy and chemistry together while James King killed it on saxophone and keys! Everyone in this six-piece line up performed flawlessly including the amazing drum solo by John Wicks on his completely lit up drum rig. Noelle, AKA "Boss Lady," looked fabulous as she rocked the stage dancing in 4-inch glittery silver high heels banging her red tambourine on her hip singing into a silver sparkly rhinestone microphone fit for a queen. The beautiful stage design had vertical nesting rectangular shaped neon lighting in the same hot pink and aqua colors as on their new self-titled third studio album, Fitz & The Tantrums.

They played eight out of the eleven songs from their latest album and ten songs from the first two studio albums, often alternating between each album. "Hand Clap" the single off their new self-titled third studio album, Fitz & The Tantrums, the fan favorite of the night judging by the volume of screams, and the catchiest tune on the radio right now. They slowed it down a bit with beautiful and emotional performances of "Burn It Down" and "Run It."

Six of the hit songs like "Out of My League," "The Walker," "6AM," and "Break the Walls" came from their second album, More Than Just a Dream. The die hard fans were evident when they played four songs from their first studio album, Pickin' Up the Pieces, like "Breakin' The Chains of Love," "L.O.V.," and "Don't Gotta Work It Out."

Fitz had great interaction with the crowd asking if they could guess how many steps he's made so far in the night. He checked his wrist device and told everyone he danced 8,000 steps around the stage so far! He constantly pointed into the crowd singling out fans singing just to them as he crossed back and forth to each side of the stage. This high energy show, full of pure entertainment, was so much fun and one not to miss!
