Bret Michaels - Rocklahoma 2008 - July 9-13
Rocker of Love?
Bret Michaels is best known for his starring role in the VH1 reality series, Rock of Love. The singer recorded his first solo album in 1998, A Letter from Death Row. It became the soundtrack to a movie he directed, wrote and starred in of the same name; produced by the film production company he established with actor Charlie Sheen. His entertainment partnership also produced the feature film Free Money, starring Mira Sorvino and Marlon Brando in his last acting role before his death.
Bret released his first solo album in 2003 titled Songs of Life. After spending the 2005 season as a judge on Nashville Star, country music’s version of American Idol, the Pennsylvania native released his own country album, Freedom of Sound.
Michaels is also active on the charity circuit. A May 1, 2008 appearance on the celebrity edition of Don’t Forget the Lyrics raised $200,000. The singer has also become an active spokesman for the Diabetes Foundation. At the age of six, Bret was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He has to give himself daily injections of insulin.
Besides music, Michaels is notorious for his love of blondes. From Playmate Susie Owens, to singer Susie Hatton, to Baywatch bombshell Pamela Anderson, Bret has loved them all and lived to tell about it. Michaels had a very short but notorious relationship with Tommy Lee’s ex-wife. An explicit sex tape the couple made appeared on the Internet and was released on DVD. Though Michaels was able to halt the sale of the video, it’s still available on the world wide web. Word of another sex tape, this time including unnamed girls from both seasons of Rock of Love, reportedly surfaced in early 2008. Brett has two daughters, ages eight and three, from his previous long-term relationship with Kristi Lynn Gibson.
When Michaels finds the time, he tours with a band called Poison. They were a big deal in the ‘80s, but lost the magic after their third album. They had a few minor hits that Michaels is obliged to sing when he performs solo. Rock of Love, Season III is rumored to be kicking off at this year’s Rocklahoma 2008 event. Wonder if the Season II winner of Bret’s affection, Amber Lake, knows production is about to begin.
