Sebastian Bach - Rocklahoma 2008 - July 9-13
Highs and Lows of Rock Stardom
As the wild front man for ‘80s hard rock band Skid Row, Sebastian Bach is no stranger to the highs and lows of rock stardom. Since his infamous breakup with the band, the singer has become a star of both commercial television (WB’s Gilmore Girls) and cable. He literally became a fixture on the various MTV channels in recent years starring in the reality series SuperGroup, I Married …Sebastian Bach and Celebrity Rap Superstar. He will also be appearing on the Country Music Television reality show, Gone Country. Recently, Bach released his first solo recording in eight years, Angel Down, in a joint partnership with EMI Records. He calls it his finest album since 1990’s Slave to the Grind with Skid Row. The cover art on Angel Down is a painting by his father, the renowned post-modern artist, David Bierk, who died of cancer in 2002.
Bach has squashed all rumors that he’s replacing former Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland. Bach declined the invitation to join Velvet Revolver because he felt uncomfortable singing GnR songs. He also cited his close relationship with Axl Rose as another reason to pass on the project. Bach contributed backing vocals on a track for the 15-year delayed Guns ‘N Roses album, Chinese Democracy. The singer did leave the door slightly open for Velvet Revolver when he said, “It would all depend on the music. I wouldn’t join the band just to join them. If we came up with some incredible new songs, then maybe I’d think about it.”
